Do you know about Etsy? Etsy is the latest revolution in the arts and crafts movement that offers people a place to buy and sell their handmade items! I didn't know about Etsy till a friend referred me. She told me it was like Ebay - except it had a few really neat differences. 1. The fees are cheap. It's 20 cents to list an item.
2. You get to put up 5 pictures of your item - for FREE!
3. Each listing lasts 4 months - yes, not one week like Ebay, but 4 months!
4. Etsy takes only a small percentage from each sale - 3.5%.
5. You can accept payment securely through PayPal if you would like.
6. Members include people from all over the globe. Overall, this adds up to a LOT less money spent on listing and selling handmade items than you would spend on other sites. The atmosphere is also super friendly and builds community rapport with forums that members can chat and participate in. Administrators are also accessible & helpful and pop in to joke and chat with the rest of us with regular frequency. Overall, I love this site! If you make any type of handcrafted goods, then this site is for you. Come join the fun! Edit: Someone has nicely pointed out that supplies and vintage items are allowed on Etsy! This is true - my apologies for forgetting. :) You are allowed to sell supplies (beads, fabric, findings, etc.) as well as vintage items on Etsy. So now it's even more fun to shop and sell on Etsy! |
